The Telecommunications sector as a key industry in need of accelerated development of new innovative technological solutions.

Our First rApps on EIAP: Smarter Networks, Greater Trust

We’re excited to announce a major milestone for our team: the launch of our first two rApps within Ericsson’s Intelligent Automation Platform (EIAP) Ecosystem.

Built to support the future of autonomous networks, these rApps mark our entry into the EIAP ecosystem with purpose and precision. They’re designed not just to showcase innovation, but to solve real operational challenges in energy management and AI trustworthiness.

Energy Demand Forecasting and Explainability rApp

Energy costs are a growing concern for operators managing increasingly dense and complex mobile networks. Our Energy Demand Forecasting and Explainability rApp takes a proactive approach to energy optimization. It doesn’t just look at what’s happening—it anticipates what’s coming.

Using advanced time series models trained on historical and real-time network data, this rApp predicts long-term energy demand across the RAN. That means operators can shift from reactive energy-saving tactics to strategic, forecast-driven planning.

But prediction alone isn’t enough. That’s why we integrated Explainable AI (XAI) into the core of the rApp.

XAI peels back the curtain on how and why the model reaches its predictions. It translates complex algorithms into human-readable insights. So instead of black-box results, operators get transparency: which variables influenced a spike in expected demand, why energy use is predicted to rise in a specific sector, or what seasonal patterns are emerging.

The result? More trust in the data, more confidence in decisions, and better alignment between business goals and network operations.

Prediction Integrity rApp

As AI-powered automation becomes more embedded in network operations, trust in predictions becomes critical. That’s where our Prediction Integrity rApp steps in.

This rApp monitors the predictions made by other rApps—including our own Energy Demand Forecasting tool—and checks for unexpected behavior, outliers, or patterns that deviate from expected norms. If a prediction doesn’t look right, the rApp raises a flag.

It acts as a second layer of defense, ensuring that any decisions based on AI forecasts are grounded in integrity. Whether it’s a sudden, unexplained shift in energy demand or an unusual forecast from a third-party rApp, the Prediction Integrity rApp doesn’t let it go unnoticed.

This isn’t just about catching errors—it’s about building resilient, self-aware systems that know when to slow down and question their own outputs. In doing so, it enhances the reliability of the network automation layer as a whole.

Why This Matters

This launch represents our vision for responsible, intelligent automation. We’re plugging into a future-ready ecosystem that fosters collaboration, innovation, and scalability. Our rApps are modular, standards-based, and built to integrate seamlessly into the EIAP framework—ensuring interoperability with other rApps and maximizing value across the network.

At the heart of this achievement is our Telco Lab, part of LAUDE’s Innovation Hub, where ideas are transformed into real-world impact. It’s here that we’re redefining what’s possible in the telecom space, blending data science, AI, and engineering excellence to build the networks of tomorrow.

Let’s talk!

We become part of EIAP Ecosystem

The EIAP ecosystem has expanded to include the investment and innovation of leading service providers, software, and service vendors, where LAUDE is part as an Independent Software Vendor.

LAUDE becomes part of Ericsson’s Intelligent Automation Platform Ecosystem (EIAP). This addition reinforces our commitment to innovation and excellence in the field of digital transformation. By joining this ecosystem, we position ourselves at the forefront of network automation, leveraging the advanced AI and machine learning capabilities offered by Ericsson’s platform, a world leader in communications technology and services.

The Ericsson Intelligent Automation Platform Ecosystem (EIAP Ecosystem) empowers developers with all the capabilities needed to build, validate, share and operate automation applications (rApps).

As part of this ecosystem, we will be able to develop innovative solutions that optimize network performance and improve the end-user experience. Being a member of the EIAP not only strengthens our service offering, but also allows us to actively contribute to the global advancement of network automation technology.

Ericsson Intelligent Automation Platform is Ericsson’s open network management and automation platform for open, multi-vendor and multi-technology networks, supporting all 4G and 5G Radio Access Networks (RAN). It includes a Non-Real-Time Radio Intelligent Controller (non-RT-RIC) for running rApps, and is supported by an open software development toolkit (SDK) which can be used by communication service providers (CSPs), and third-party developers to develop new rApps. EIAP supports a vibrant ecosystem of rApps touching the complete lifecycle of network automation.

Innovation in the Telecom industry

LAUDE has been appointed by major telecom operators to develop a unique use case: ViRe. This choice highlights our capabilities in innovation and development, placing us as a leader in today’s technological landscape.

ViRe and the use of Open Gateway

ViRe (Violence Restriction) is a cutting-edge application created by LAUDE and based on the Open Gateway CAMARA APIs.

In the next edition of the Mobile World Congress (MWC), in Barcelona, we will present together with MasOrange, Telefonica, Vodafone Group and i2CAT the first Open Gateway use case. We will be running a daily demonstration of the ViRe use case at the GSMA booth (hall 4, booth 4F30).

ViRe aims to improve the safety of people protected by restraining orders, using standardized APIs to ensure a secure and reliable environment.

APIs Innovation

Our solution integrates several APIs provided by the Open Gateway Lab, including some such as Device Location Verification, Quality on Demand, Number Verification, Know Your Customer or Device Swap. These APIs, combined with our technological development, offer greater security and reliability compared to other alternatives.

“The adoption of CAMARA APIs together with Open Gateway enables us to use mobile networks as service platforms. This has generated in our Innovation Hub a valuable pool of resources with which to define and implement various use cases for multiple business areas. ViRe, driven by our commitment to social responsibility, is the first exponent of this potential.”

Collaboration and Success

Our collaboration with the i2CAT research center has been crucial in the connection of the operators and the success of the initial tests. The development of this use case demonstrates our capabilities in working in collaborative and multi-operator environments.

“At LAUDE we are pioneers in applying CAMARA APIs from the Open Gateway initiative for social impact purposes, through solutions like ViRe, which address current problems. As CTO, it is a privilege to face challenges that generate a real impact on our environment: seeing how the technology we develop contributes to improving people’s lives is a source of pride and extra motivation for the whole team.”

Market Impact

The Open Gateway multi-operator innovation lab, launched in October 2024, provides an accessible and collaborative environment to accelerate the adoption of interoperable APIs. LAUDE, as the first technology company to explore this potential, is setting a trend in the market, fostering competition and innovation.

“While news of technological breakthroughs are coming faster and faster, they are rarely geared towards the betterment of society and at the same time are made possible by the combined potential and consensus of companies in the same industry. ViRe is a clear example of what our innovation capacity and commitment is capable of achieving to serve a purpose that improves our community.”
